Microsoft has announced the 20 nominees for their XNA “Dream, Build, Play” Contest in which people develop their own games with the potent XNA game creation software.
Some of the more interesting titles include Little Gamers is cutesy with an evil bent, seemingly inspired by Alien Hominid but also Dead Rising. Proximity is a mathematical puzzle game. Viduce is a gorgeous, if incomprehensible from screenshots, French garden game. Ragu is a bee game with wild crayon graphics. Gravitron Ultra is the winner of the Best XNA Game award at the Swedish Game Awards 2007, where future XBLA game Switchball was a winner. But honestly, how can you not root for any game named Yo Ho Kablammo, or a cartoony platformer called The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai?
