After the 360 had its first price cut in North America, Australia finally gets there price cut and boy is it sweet. The core unit will now retail for AUD 399.95, which is the same price as the Wii. Is there a possibility that this new low price could get the many people wanting a Wii to make the jump to a “current gen” console? With the PS3 still retailing for AUD 999.99 we’re pretty sure that isn’t going to bode well with the ‘casual’ gamers.
“I think you’ll see, on a games point of view, we’re well ahead [of the PS3]. And now once again we’re offering all of these experiences at a really affordable price,”
Though the Core is the same price as the Wii, it still comes HDD-less. So if possible new Australian Core owners want to play MMO’s on their new 360. They may be sadly disappointed.
