This Week’s New Releases: August 21 - September 1

Drought laden, and full of mediocrity, the floodgates have finally opened to This Week’s New Releases, bringing in way too many games to occupy your spending and your time.

If any console has been suffering the most from lack of quality software it’s been the Wii. While selling like hotcakes to “gamers” who want to get all healthy and smart, the hardcore seems to have been truly lost to Nintendo. It’s a good thing that Samus and crew are back in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, here to help revive the hardcore by some good ‘ol fashioned shooting dudes in the face and introducing some neat Wii-mote features — though, online play wouldn’t have hurt!

PS3 owners got a sneak peak of it during the beta, and now they can check out the fruits of their “labor” with the official release of Warhawk. The multiplayer only game will be available tonight at 12:01 EST through the PlayStation Network, and at their local brick-and-mortar store tomorrow.

    Tiger Woods 08 is one of the major multiconsole games. Blue Dragon is a major Xbox 360 RPG.
