Jobs Offers Up $100 Refund for Early iPhone Adopters

Yesterday’s Apple press conference left many feeling that Steve Jobs and crew have hit another smash success out of the ballpark…unless you were an early iPhone adopter. Frustrated with shelling out USD $600 after camping out at launch, then having the price cut by a third of the price a few months after, to say that iPhone users were angry would be an understatement.
This vocal group of consumers have used their collective voice to speak loud enough to usher a response from Steve Jobs, who dished out several emails apologizing, and offering $100 in Apple store credit. Jobs then goes on to address the issue of the ever-evolving technology industry:
This is life in the technology lane. If you always wait for the next price cut or to buy the new improved model, you’ll never buy any technology product because there is always something better and less expensive on the horizon.
Unfortunately, with Apple products, this “horizon” is all too close for consumer comfort…

That’s the price for being a n00b. If you buy something and wait in line on the day of release, that’s your fault.

First, if $200 is a lot of money to you, you have no business spending $600 on a phone.
Second, if you need a buy a new unproven 1st gen product on release day, it’s buyer beware. Be prepared for price cuts and defects. Just look at the ps3 and the 360.
