Sony Helps Reviewers Play Lair, Doesn’t Improve Scores

“Open your mind and hands for something very different!” Those are the words of the President of Factor 5, Julian Eggebrecht.

What exactly does that mean?

Well we’re pretty sure you’ll need both your hands and your mind to read the “Lair Reviewer’s Guide” IGN (and most likely a plethora of other reviewers) received their brand new copy of the coveted guide earlier today, which seems like a slap in the face to everyone that reviewed Lair.

A “Lair Reviewer’s Guide” just arrived in our mailbox, and is chock full of helpful information that Sony hopes will give critics a better understanding of how the game should be played.

I’m sure all the reviewers (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5), especially Greg Miller of IGN (pictured) are saying, “Thank you, Sony.” Thank you not only for opening their eyes, but thanking you for telling them how to play games, because they didn’t really know how to before.

After all, every game needs 21 pages to tell you how to use the controls, right?

(Thanks, Joystiq.)

The music is magnificent; interstitial cutscenes look great.

    Cons
Everything besides the music and the cutscenes is a crime against the gaming community.

They’re right - too bad those god damn cut scenes cut in every 30 god damn seconds.
