MCV is reporting that Argos; a video game retailer in the UK, blames the early sales of the much anticipated Halo 3 to none other than an “administrative error” Of course, blame it on the computers. These are the same yoyos who broke the Crackdown street date, too.
Gamers have bought and sent in pictures to MCV showing their receipt and game almost a week in advance.
The Argos site says that anyone who pre-orders the game will be able to pick up the game in-store on ‘Wed 19 September – Thu 20 September’.
“Argos would like to make it clear that it does not endorse breaking street dates and continues to be committed to preventing pre-release sales through its stores and web site.”
“We accept that this incident falls short of the usual high standards we aim to achieve and operate within and we will be taking steps to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.”
If you’re one of the lucky people who got your hands on a copy of Halo 3 early, it wouldn’t be a wise move to start playing it quite yet. With the recent scare of Microsoft banning employees, why take the risk?
