So maybe they're putting out half decent hardware?

What a novel idea.

LAUNCH ANYTHING and you're gonna have issues. Nothing has a perfect launch but this is 22 months later and 360's are STILL DYING on a regular basis.

You're lucky. Over 66% of all PS2s failed during its launch. Ditto C-64s.

And don't get me started on iPod failures...

I had one PS2 die, but my buddy and I were young, jobless, and played SSX from school ending until mom kicked him out of the house because it was after midnight. That is the only other console problem I've ever had, but it wasn't faulty hardware, it was EXCESSIVE use.

Oh, it's actually two years...and it ends in November...I actually just got off the phone with MS tech support last night because my third 360 is acting up again.

Now, it seems to be working fine, but I'm considering sending it in anyway just so I won't have to shell out unneccessary money.

I've had just about every system within the past decade or so, and have never had this many problems.

Too bad that they had to. They could have avoided it if they just made decent hardware that wasn't malfunctioning. My Sony warranty and Nintendo warranty are fine. I've yet to use them. I'm on my second Xbox. Fancy that.

How's your 3 year warranty coming along? Microsoft spent $1B on that warranty so you can be happy.

"Now, if Microsoft issues an Xbox 360 controller with motion control, you can whine."

No, they haven't done that, but considering post-launch they've added an HDMI port to just about every model, and a bunch more safety precautions that make my third 360 feel like a ticking time bomb, I'm pretty disappointed with their business model.

I've supported the 360 since launch, and it's still my favorite console, but it's because of the GAMES on the system. Still, I cannot look away when I feel like a beta tester, considering the newer models are less prone to break.

HDMI, just like rumble is not something you need, but without it I'm missing out on upscaling DVDs -- a feature which I'd really like to take advantage of. And no, I can't hook up VGA to my tv.

I can't play my games in HDMI can I? Not unless I buy a NEW CONSOLE. I can't get 100% out of my games because my console can not do 1080p. I need a new console for that.

Also, making sure any game could be played on a core, like it or not, has deteriorated game quality and developers are tired of it. CoD4 as well as Borderlands are said to require the hard drive. That's 100 dollars for a Canadian consumer to enjoy that game if they have a core. In the future, you'll see more of that.

Don't forget FFXI. Core owners can't play that. ;) You can't get 100 % of the game experience with the only console on the market worse than the 20GB PS3.

And you're right, this IS fanboy bullshit.

"When MS adds motion, it won’t be NECESSARY."

Sure it is - if you want to get 100% out of a game's experience.

This is why Microsoft made sure that every game could play on a Core, Premium or Elite. They're all basically the same hardware. This is why they fought having a HD requirement for so long - they want Core owners not to miss out.

I'm not going to respond any more to the motion I'm anti-PS3. This is Console Fanboy Bullshit.

Oh, and by the way, regarding rumble and luxury - did anyone but Sony say, "The PS3 doesn't need rumble"? Or do you agree with Sony when they said that rumble was a LAST GEN FEATURE? If it's so last gen, why employ it now?

No. I'll whine now. You're complaining about something as trivial as rumble. When MS adds motion, it won't be NECESSARY. They won't make games that you NEED TO HAVE IT in. There's simple mechanics you can use with your sticks that you don't NEED motion for.

They could add a sensor to tell me how much pressure I'm putting on it, how high it is off of the ground, whatever. They will NEVER ruin the game experience and will ALWAYS be an optional LUXURY.

"What about Microsoft “Forcing” McFarlane’s Halo 3 controllers on us, omgnoez."

Are they functionally different than other Microsoft controllers? Is there something they give you the others don't?

Or are they the same controllers with a different paint job.

They're luxury items. They don't have any special features.

Now, if Microsoft issues an Xbox 360 controller with motion control, you can whine.
