  1. Chris Gueco Says:

That bag is so hot. I want it. I take my Xbox out sometimes, it would be a lot easier to throw it in that bag, than packing it in a normal back-pack

  2. jonahfalcon Says:

    At $49.99, it’s not a bad deal.

  3. Devin Grimes Says:

Wow, you wouldn’t pay $50 for a SIXAXIS with rumble, but a bag is worth it?

  4. jonahfalcon Says:

Um, Devin? No one is forcing people to buy the bag. Sony is forcing people to buy a whole new controller.

Even you must recognize the difference between luxury and necessity.

  5. Devin Grimes Says:

How are they forcing people to buy a whole new controller? The controllers that are already out there won’t cease to work. Sure, they messed up in the beginning, but it’s the same deal with HDMI on the Xbox 360. People don’t need it, but it’s something that many people want…and many people rebought 360s for.

I don’t see either company forcing people to do anything…

  6. jonahfalcon Says:

    You can’t be serious.

“Hey, this game has Rumble! Oh, wait. You don’t have the RUMBLE CONTROLLER? Well, shell out $50.”

Is the bag an absolute necessity? Do you lose functionality in your games without it?

Stop it. Just, stop it. You’re not going to win this debate.

  7. Devin Grimes Says:

It’s not about the bag. When you see the word Sony anywhere, you react the same way a bull does when it sees red. It’s terrible that you feel the need to contradict anything that is in the slightest bit positive. Like games, not the systems that play them. Am I Sony-biased? No, in fact, I hardly even play the system, but rumble is not a big deal, and I don’t care enough about supporting Microsoft’s invisible cause to engage in the frontlines of a pointless “console war.”

  8. jonahfalcon Says:

That’s an Ad Hominem response, and it just doesn’t fly.

    http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/ad-hominem.html

This is not “anti-Sony” sentiment. This is a “consumer ripoff” sentiment. Don’t blame me for Sony’s actions.

Are there any Xbox 360 games coming out that will utilize these bags for extra features?

  9. Devin Grimes Says:

Consumer ripoff? That doesn’t even make sense, and I don’t care if it’s a ripoff or not, that’s in the eye of the beholder.

That’s fantastic that it’s an Ad Hominem response, but who cares? You sending off anti-Sony vibes and posts isn’t just exclusive to this rumble idea, which I’m sick of arguing about. Other writers have picked up on it, and as much as I’m sure you know who they are, I can guarantee that they are just as sick of the blind ignorance of a viewpoint you tend to have that’s consistent of fanboyism.

  10. jonahfalcon Says:

No, I’m not sending anti-Sony vibes - SONY is sending anti-Sony vibes. If I were so “anti-Sony”, why am I posting articles about Ratchet & Clank and Buzz! PS3? I also issue a lot of stories about Sony games that don’t have my byline because I’m having other writers do it.

Like sending YOU this one to write: http://www.gamestooge.com/2007/09/18/mgs4-playable-at-tokyo-game-show/

    Let’s make this clear:

I report the news. I don’t make it. You want less anti-Sony stuff? Maybe Sony should stop making a fool of itself.

  11. MitchyD Says:

I’ll believe you when you post regular negative press about ANYTHING REGARDING ANYTHING that’s not Sony.

Sony isn’t forcing a controller on them, they’re making it available. It won’t ruin the experience not having it, but it will improve it on having one. Like a Wireless Headset. Or a Wireless controller. What about Microsoft “Forcing” McFarlane’s Halo 3 controllers on us, omgnoez. It’s an effing peripheral. Besides, if you own a PS3, chances are you’re WILLING to shell out the money for a new AXIS controller. If not, you’re not missing much. Rumble is not AS IMPORTANT as people make it out to be. In some games it’s critical (Table Tennis) in others (My pS3 library) I’ve got no complaints.

You were talking “luxury” and “Necessity” - How will you be UNABLE TO PLAY your games without Rumble? Making it available does not destroy your library, making it NECESSARY to own a SIXAXIS to play them - it’s a luxury. Just like wireless. Just like the rumble you have in the only console you’ll release any good news about.

  12. MitchyD Says:

Also, just to comment on the bag, this is a huge rip-off. Why are they releasing all of this stuff? I saw that missile case yesterday and thought it was the DUMBEST THING EVER.

  13. jonahfalcon Says:

    Short memory, Mitch:

    http://www.gamestooge.com/2007/09/18/nintendo-shuts-down-forums-indefinitely/

  14. jonahfalcon Says:

“What about Microsoft “Forcing” McFarlane’s Halo 3 controllers on us, omgnoez.”

Are they functionally different than other Microsoft controllers? Is there something they give you the others don’t?

Or are they the same controllers with a different paint job.

They’re luxury items. They don’t have any special features.

Now, if Microsoft issues an Xbox 360 controller with motion control, you can whine.

  15. MitchyD Says:

No. I’ll whine now. You’re complaining about something as trivial as rumble. When MS adds motion, it won’t be NECESSARY. They won’t make games that you NEED TO HAVE IT in. There’s simple mechanics you can use with your sticks that you don’t NEED motion for.

They could add a sensor to tell me how much pressure I’m putting on it, how high it is off of the ground, whatever. They will NEVER ruin the game experience and will ALWAYS be an optional LUXURY.

  16. jonahfalcon Says:

“When MS adds motion, it won’t be NECESSARY.”

Sure it is - if you want to get 100% out of a game’s experience.

This is why Microsoft made sure that every game could play on a Core, Premium or Elite. They’re all basically the same hardware. This is why they fought having a HD requirement for so long - they want Core owners not to miss out.

I’m not going to respond any more to the motion I’m anti-PS3. This is Console Fanboy Bullshit.

Oh, and by the way, regarding rumble and luxury - did anyone but Sony say, “The PS3 doesn’t need rumble”? Or do you agree with Sony when they said that rumble was a LAST GEN FEATURE? If it’s so last gen, why employ it now?

  17. MitchyD Says:

I can’t play my games in HDMI can I? Not unless I buy a NEW CONSOLE. I can’t get 100% out of my games because my console can not do 1080p. I need a new console for that.

Also, making sure any game could be played on a core, like it or not, has deteriorated game quality and developers are tired of it. CoD4 as well as Borderlands are said to require the hard drive. That’s 100 dollars for a Canadian consumer to enjoy that game if they have a core. In the future, you’ll see more of that.

Don’t forget FFXI. Core owners can’t play that. ;) You can’t get 100 % of the game experience with the only console on the market worse than the 20GB PS3.

And you’re right, this IS fanboy bullshit.

  18. Devin Grimes Says:

“Now, if Microsoft issues an Xbox 360 controller with motion control, you can whine.”

No, they haven’t done that, but considering post-launch they’ve added an HDMI port to just about every model, and a bunch more safety precautions that make my third 360 feel like a ticking time bomb, I’m pretty disappointed with their business model.

I’ve supported the 360 since launch, and it’s still my favorite console, but it’s because of the GAMES on the system. Still, I cannot look away when I feel like a beta tester, considering the newer models are less prone to break.

HDMI, just like rumble is not something you need, but without it I’m missing out on upscaling DVDs — a feature which I’d really like to take advantage of. And no, I can’t hook up VGA to my tv.

  19. jonahfalcon Says:

How’s your 3 year warranty coming along? Microsoft spent $1B on that warranty so you can be happy.

  20. MitchyD Says:

Too bad that they had to. They could have avoided it if they just made decent hardware that wasn’t malfunctioning. My Sony warranty and Nintendo warranty are fine. I’ve yet to use them. I’m on my second Xbox. Fancy that.

  21. Devin Grimes Says:

Oh, it’s actually two years…and it ends in November…I actually just got off the phone with MS tech support last night because my third 360 is acting up again.

Now, it seems to be working fine, but I’m considering sending it in anyway just so I won’t have to shell out unneccessary money.

I’ve had just about every system within the past decade or so, and have never had this many problems.

  22. MitchyD Says:

I had one PS2 die, but my buddy and I were young, jobless, and played SSX from school ending until mom kicked him out of the house because it was after midnight. That is the only other console problem I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t faulty hardware, it was EXCESSIVE use.

  23. jonahfalcon Says:

You’re lucky. Over 66% of all PS2s failed during its launch. Ditto C-64s.

And don’t get me started on iPod failures…

  24. MitchyD Says:

LAUNCH ANYTHING and you’re gonna have issues. Nothing has a perfect launch but this is 22 months later and 360’s are STILL DYING on a regular basis.

  25. jonahfalcon Says:

Actually, reports of faulty Xbox 360’s have plummetted since the warranty.

  26. MitchyD Says:

So maybe they’re putting out half decent hardware?

    What a novel idea.
