This Week’s New Releases: September 30 - October 6

Maybe not. Now that Halo 3 has been released, most publishers are unafraid to release their games without having to deal with Halo-mania. The biggest release of the week is Project Gotham Racing 4 for the Xbox 360, developed by Bizarre Creations (who’ve just been bought by Activision.) It coincides with the opening of the NBA season, so NBA Live 08, NBA 2K8 and NBA 08 are all coming out for multiple platforms. Another major multiplatform title is Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. If you combine all three - Spider-Man, basketball and racing - like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups - you might get some goodness that tastes great when combined: Spider-Man Basketball Racing.

Well, maybe not.

Other major releases include the long awaited Enemy Territory: Quake Wars for the PC, the port of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass to the Nintendo DS, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage for the Xbox 360 - for those of you who can’t wait for Burnout Paradise - and Crash of the Titans for multiple platforms - for the few Crash Bandicoot fans left out there.
