Jack Thompson Continues Crusade on Fox News, Fails

Manhunt 2’s release is impending after a few struggles to even get the game to retail, and wouldn’t you know it, Jack Thompson is on the case. It’s a good watch if you’re in dire need of a few laughs.
At least we know the family supports it, Jack!

As much as I hate to say it, I think Jack is right about getting this game up to an AO rating. I am not of the opinion that video games will make you kill people but games are a visceral medium nowadays that can really affect younger audiences… we’re not talking about Pong anymore.
Jonathan was talking about “…it’s not the video game developer’s fault…”. I disagree completely. I absolutely think it’s their responsibility to be aware of how this impacts millions of younger gamers.
I would love to hear some discussion on this topic.

I can definitely agree with you about Jonathan. Unfortunately they always end up picking the worst guys to go up against Thompson on the news.

I have no problem with the game getting an AO rating if it deserves it — and maybe it does. I do, however, have a HUGE problem with banning something outright.

Why is the media still giving Jack Thompson air time? That’s what I want to know, the man is completely irrelevant, his past actions should have banned him from public discourse years ago.
The only reason this guy is on television is because he’s a nut who increases viewership.
It’s not Jack’s or Jonathan’s or anyone’s job to tell me what is okay for me to play or view. That is my job. If I have children then it’s my job to make sure I know what they’re buying. Period end of story. I’m sick of lawyers, politicians and intellectual deciding what I can and can’t do with my life.
