Johnny Rotten Bashes Guitar Hero III

Someone should have told the folks at Activision that Johnny Rotten loves to be an iconoclast and be contrary. At the UK launch party of Guitar Hero III, he said to the crowd:

“I’ll give it to you basic and honest, the offer came in and I took it home and I played it with a bunch of kids. What I like is it weren’t teaching you how to be a rock star, it was teaching you how not to be a rock star…”

Thanks for stating the obvious, Johnny. Two questions for you:

1. You’re not a rock star, how would you know? You basically founded punk as an answer to the lameness of rock music.
2. Is it FUN?

Got to wonder what he thinks of the singing and drum playing of Rock Star.
