Burnout Paradise, Frontlines: Fuel of War Demos on XBL

Filling in the post-Holiday release schedule lull today is the release of two shiny new demos on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace: Burnout Paradise and Frontlines: Fuel of War.

Burnout Paradise has a lot riding on its back. Already a hugely successful established franchise, Paradise is the first “real” game in the series to make it onto the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. If that’s not enough, developer Criterion Games has evolved the gameplay into an open-world style map. PS3 users should be able to download the demo later today, once the PSN Store gets updated — we’ll have a full recap of that as well.

How is the demo? Check back later for a preview, but until then, I leave you with a verbatim account of what site contributer Mitchell “MitchyD” Dyer left me in an IM I woke up to this morning:

MitchyD (6:31:22 AM): OMMFG BURNOUT IS HOT

MitchyD (6:31:23 AM): SO HOT

MitchyD (6:31:27 AM): OMMFG HOT!

MitchyD (6:31:30 AM): It’s 4:30 AM

I’m guessing he liked it… Unlike what many users are saying about the Frontlines: Fuel of War demo, which is out now as well *crickets*.

I like it, but I’m seriously tired of Criterion’ lack of a brightness option. Honestly, on my LCD HDTV, it looks like I’m trying to drive during twilight with no headlights.
