Want your “rocket low-ncher”? The Neo*Geo’s Metal Gear Solid 3 will be hitting Xbox Live Arcade on January 2 as the first XBLA game of 2008. In addition to the core gameplay, it’ll feature updated HD graphics and online co-op gameplay. It’ll cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10 USD).

I’d be excited about this, I’d even buy it if I didn’t already have this in a few collections, on my computer, and half a dozen places as well… But for those of you who don’t you definitely shhould! MS is a great series… Speaking of shoot-em-ups, if you want your ass handed to you repeatedly pick up Contra 4, or wait for my review of it in a few days… That game is so old-school…

Ah, but could you play online co-op with them? Or get Achievements?

I think MAME does have some sort of online multi player thingy… or is that only ZSNES? Or are we even allowed to discuss such things? Achievements just show how much of a failure I am at playing the games I own…

MAME doesn’t do Neo*Geo games to begin with.

Jonah, when was the last time you looked at MAME? I can play every arcade iteration of Metal Slug I’ve been able to find on it (1,2,3,5,X). I don’t even know if it is even the latest version of MAME… (I’m suing MAME32 if you’re curious…)
