Forget Duke Nukem Forever – the original Duke Nukem 3D build engine shooter may be coming to Xbox Live Arcade:
On Monday, sources close to 3D Realms, which is separately working on the long-in-development next installment in the beloved franchise, Duke Nukem Forever, confirmed to IGN that Duke Nukem 3D is, in fact, scheduled to debut on Xbox Live within the next several months. And best of all, it’ll feature a four-player online cooperative mode over Live. Insiders also allege that it will boast an eight-player online deathmatch mode.
Online co-op? The deathmatching of Duke was awesome way back when (laser trip wire kills FTW!), but playing Duke co-op?
Please let this rumor be true!

Why put a question mark behind the online co-op? The original Duke had it, not over the internet but man did we have a blast at LAN parties fragging through the levels
And I hope the XBLA version adds the high resolution textures and 3D models from the HR-Pack shown in the YouTube video and doesn’t stay 2.5D like the original.
So to quote the man himself: “Hey 3D Realms! What are you waiting for? Christmas?”

Well, maybe not Christmas, but Summer.
