Red Faction 3 Announced

Some mediocre shooter series won’t stay dead, as THQ has announced Red Faction 3, to be developed by original developer Volition, who did the first two, as well as Saints Row.
Of course, the big thing about Red Faction was the vaunted GeoMod engine, which allowed you to shoot up the terrain. Well… at specific points. While it was possible to blow huge chunks in granite, windows and paper thin office walls were indestructible. Perhaps Volition saw what was going on in Fracture and said, “Hey, we did that first!” and decided they’d want to show the newcomers what they could do now.
It’ll be interesting to see how the power of current consoles and PC will affect Red Faction; it’s due to hit in the Spring of 2009 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
