GDC ‘08: Gears of War 2 Releases November 2008

Microsoft unveiled Gears of War 2 during their keynote speech, showing off the new graphic effects such as dynamic liquid effects. The game also for the first time featured large crowds, such as a mob of Locusts rushing at Marcus Fenix, and deformable structures.
Later, they announced the release date: November 2008.
