Oh, come on. It’s The Sims, and more importantly, it’s Electronic Arts. It’s surprising this didn’t come out sooner, although, in true Sims style, endless content expansions for The Sims 2 took place of the need to issue a The Sims 2 every year.
Anyway, the official The Sims 3 site is up, promising content on March 19, 2008. What will be in the new one? Higher resolution graphics, of course, though not so high to make it impossible for low-end machines to handle it. Personally, I want a screensaver “fishbowl” mode - that is, your Sims go on autopilot but never reach failure states in anything. You know, just live their own lives as a screensaver.
