Joystiq is reporting that Super Smash Bros. Brawl is failing to work on enough Wiis that Nintendo has issued a North American repair form.
While we’re sure most of us would describe Wii fanatics as the most lighthearted of the console enthusiasts, we can only imagine that being forced to wait nearly two years for the most highly anticipated game on your console, only to come home from a midnight launch to discover you cannot extract the frenzied multiplayer mayhem stored on the disc you’ve purchased might incite one’s dander to “get up”. Alas, many a brawler-to-be recently found themselves in this lamentable situation, as Super Smash Bros. Brawl has reportedly had performance anxiety in a number of Wii consoles.
Apparently, your Wii lens must be squeaky clean and you have to send in your Wii to have them cleaned. Have you had issues with SSBB? Let us know.

All clear here, though online seems to be a little screwed up. Though, I’m willing to bet it’s more of a Wi-Fi problem with me than anything.

My Wii (purchased near launch) won’t even acknowledge the game.

I got my Wii the same day as the Super Smash Bros release so I don’t totaly buy the dirty lens theory, as how could it have a dirty lens if it’s brand new?
