EA Sez: Want Better Weapons? Use Real Money.

Electronic Arts is once again proving they are shameless and greedy when it comes to microtransactions. It’s bad enough when downloadable content comes in the form of stuff that’s either already on the disc, useless stuff that’s only cosmetic like horse armor or more stuff that was cut so it could later be added as paid DLC.

Congrats to EA, they’ve hit a new low.

Now, they’re experimenting with charging people to get better weaponry in Battlefield: Bad Company. So now, play balance is affected by how much money you’re willing to pay EA, and not necessarily skill. Oddly, the microtransactions for better weaponry is on the Xbox 360 side, while the PC version has charged DLC for stuff that doesn’t affect gameplay, like new skins, etc.

What do you think?

(Thanks, X3F.)
