NEW RELEASES: Week of March 23-29

This week, the big release is Dark Sector, a grim third-person shooter developed by guys who obviously loved Krull, since your main weapon is a Glaive. The game looks hot, and the AI seems intelligent, but we won’t know how good it is til the reviews start rolling in. Since it’s a slow period (Spring) for original shooters, it could be a big seller in the same way Lost Planet: Extreme Condition was.
The other major release is the Xbox 360 port of the great real-time strategy game Universe at War, as once again, RTS developers want to cash in on the 360’s ability to sell games. Endwar is another console RTS coming as well.
On the PC side, Guild Wars Platinum Edition will bundle the original game with Eye of the North, and PlayStation 2 Naruto fans get Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3. Wii owners? A bunch of O games, Obscure: The Aftermath, Octomania and Opoona. Don’t ask me - I have no idea what they are.
