It’s now midnight, April 29, 2008. Did you pick up your copy of Grand Theft Auto IV yet? Are you online trying to bring down Microsoft and/or Sony’s servers? Let us know!

Personally? No - I preordered online.

Am I the only Gamer on the planet who doesn’t get the GTA hype? My friend had GTAIII when it was the big thing and tried to show me the sights. After jumping the car a few times and picking up a girl, I asked him what else he did in the game.
That was it.
Not wanting to dismiss it that quickly, I rented the game on my own and tried to play through some missions.
What is the big deal about this game? Drive around, shoot some people, run errands.
I’m passing on this one.

Yeah mine should be here tomorrow, not waiting in line with a bunch of sweaty nerds and angry children

Yeah, I picked mine up. I went to Gamestop and the process was much sweeter than picking up Halo 3 at Best Buy. Gamestop pre-reg’s everyone so that at midnight all you do is run through a line with your stamped receipt and get the game.
Sweetening the deal was a local gaming center, Cyber Ops, who provided soda, sandwiches and Doritos. In and out by 12:10 am - it was a nice deal.

Hell yeah. Got to Wal-Mart a little after midnight and they already had the display cases full with copies. I was worried I would have to wait for them to wheel the boxes out first.

I went to my local Blockbuster to pick up my copy last night. That was definitely the way to go. I think there were 20-25 people there, so we were all in and out in no time at all. And I didn’t even realize they were giving away framed GTA art with every copy, so that was a cool bonus. I was back home and playing around 10 past midnight.
Apparently the nearest Gamestop had over 250 people lined up around the block. Suckas!

My husband and I did at Gamestop…And out of about 75 people I was one of 3 women and we probably the oldest people there…Eeek!

I preordered through Amazon to save gas and taxes (I’m a Prime member so s&h was only 3.99 for overnight). Waiting on the delivery as I type this.
