Piracy May Force Console Crysis Ports

Joystiq is reporting that Crytek will go console because piracy caused low sales of Crysis. Company president Cevat Yerli was interviewed in a Croatian magazine as stating:

“I believe that’s the core problem of PC gaming, piracy … It was a big lesson for us and I believe we won’t have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future.”

Um, yeah, sure, and it wasn’t the insane system specs Crysis demanded which only a very small percentage of system owners could manage. Right. The video game industry continues to blame bad sales figures on pirating - perhaps they should do a bit more market research and start taking some of the blame upon themselves.

The one thing Xbox 360 owners, for example, won’t have to worry about Crysis will be system specs.
