Activision Chief Executive Bobby Kotick according to Videogamer.com expressed “concern” that Electronic Arts was monopolizing sports:
“That’s concerning, sure. When you think about one company in control of the sports category, with no competition from anybody else, that could be a challenge.”
It’s unknown if he felt the same way about Activision buying Blizzard to monopolize the MMORPG market or making sure Aerosmith never plays on Rock Band.
There is a genuine concern, though, because if Electronic Arts says there will be no NFL game on PC, there’s nothing anyone can do about it, and PC gamers will only be left a lame explanation from EA.
