The June 2006 issue of Game Informer will show off Guitar Hero IV’s drum kit, which looks like belongs in the film Tron.
Not only that, but there’s two cymbals. 6 “frets” to worry about? Looks like they’re going to amp up the difficulty in IV just as they did the guitar playing in III.
I’d rather have slightly easier, since it allows me to have fun at a party, which less-skilled players. What do you think? Want to handle 6 note types rather than 5?
(Thanks, GamePro.)

Rabblerouser.
I’m sure the easier levels of GHIV will be just like they are on GH3, slow and accessible. Probably will only use a couple pads and the bass pedal.
The extra challenge will be fine, people make too much of a deal about GH3’s increase.
IF this is true, they are likely just striving to make it more and more realistic. Even the most basic drum set has 2 or 3 toms, a snare, a bass drum, a hi-hat and a cymbol. Count ‘em, that’s 6 or 7 “pedals/pads”.

The real reason is that you won’t be able to use the drums you already own with GH4.

The more pads/pedals the better. I love it. Rock Band is exciting and awesome on expert, but a few songs are just killer to play. If anything, I’m more concerned about the order in which they’re given to you in single-player mode (Nine Inch Nails is really tough).
I just don’t understand why GUITAR hero would have a DRUM kit…
