Resident Evil 5: Co-Op and Cover System?

Shacknews is saying that Resident Evil 5 will be a little more like Gears of War this time around, as it may feature online co-op and a cover system.
A cover system will be incorporated into the control mechanics for the first time in the franchise’s history, allowing players to “lock to a wall and fire around the corner.” A dodging mechanic in the style of Clover’s God Hand, which used the right analog stick for quick movement, will also be featured.
Expected at some unspecified point in 2009, Resident Evil 5 (PS3, 360) pairs series lead Chris Redfield with an unnamed female mercenary as they investigate the root of all zombie-kind.
The challenge mode will also return for numero cinco.
