Jack Thompson In the News Again

Mr. Thompson can’t stand to be out of the spotlight for more than a few days it seems. This time it’s all over a letter he sent to Judge Federico Moreno, who Thompson is petitioning to intercede over Thompson’s ongoing disbarment. Two U.S. Marshals visited Mr. Thompson’s house today to question him about said letter, in which Thompson complains “that enemy combatants at Guantanamo are to get more due process from federal judges than what I am to have. I guess my ‘mistake’ was not killing 3000 people to make my point… I demand a hearing.” It seems Judge Moreno read the letter as a threat (though reading it, it mostly seems to be rambling complaints) and so the two Marshals were sent to have a talk with Thompson. Mr. Thompson already claiming to be harassed by the Justice department now only raises the tone of his voice in, what must be the hope that the media will shed some light on his “plight” and the public will side with him.

Mr. Thompson has also requested a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee to air his grievances in Washington D.C., as well as filing Freedom of Information Act papers in order to get his hands on all documents that the Justice Department has re: him since 1992.

I submit that Thompson’s continual, rabid attacks, and complaints are only going to further alienate him from people who normally might come to his support (of course gamers will not be found in that group). The more Thompson complains and files paperwork the more he looks like a conspiracy nut on his own personal misguided crusade.
