Spore: 500,000 User Creatures
The Spore Creature Creator seems to be a smashing success. 48 hours after it was released, half a million creatures have been created.
The best part is that these creatures will be part of the main game, Spore, as user content will populate a lot of the galaxy in each player’s game. Not to worry, the game will auto-generate creatures when needed as well, but honestly, human artistry beats computer artistry anytime. (Except when those humans think walking genitalia is funny.)
[UPDATE: By "auto-generate", I mean select from existing Maxis creatures and upgrade them to be more powerful if needed.]
