Wii Castlevania a Fighting Game?!

I consume all things Castlevania, and I won’t believe this news until I see the latest issue of Nintendo Power, which is apparently reporting that the Castlevania game coming to Nintendo’s Wii is going to be a 3D fighting game. Why the folks at Konami think this will help the franchise, I can’t imagine, especially considering the low sales numbers of other 3D Castlevania titles (Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness.)
Details on the game are, of course, scarce. I’m hoping they stay that way, but the originator of this rumor is saying that the game will feature several of the common sub-weapons (boomerang, holy water, etc.), re-mixes of iconic Castlevania tunes, destructible environments, nunchuck controls, and the ability to play as Dracula, Alucard, Simon Belmont, Maria Renard, and Shanoa (where’s Richter?)
If you have a Nintendo Power and can confirm or deny this for us, that’d be great.
(Thanks, Go Nintendo.)
