Rumors Fly on Xbox 360 Price Cuts

We reported a few days ago on the Kmart ad that came out with a reduced Xbox 360 price. Since then the price reduction has been seen in other ads and all but confirmed. Well, now the folks at Ars Technica are saying that the price reduction is happening only on the 20 GB hard drive Xbox 360 because it is being phased out of production to make way for a new 60 GB HDD model. This as-of-yet announced model would be on shelves in mid- or late July.

For some reason the Hollywood Reporter has decided to weigh in on the issue stating that the price cut will happen before E3 and that the new model will be introduced there and then replace the old Pro on store shelves shortly thereafter.

As the story grows and changes we’ll keep covering it. Until, E3 that is, when we can kill all these rumors and get some facts.
