Mega Man 9 Goes Old School

GamesRadar has screenshots of the new WiiWare (and Xbox Live Arcade) game Mega Man 9, and they’re pretty old school.
Why the retro look?
We talked to Inafune for the official answer, but our take is this – the recent batch of Mega Man games have strayed too far from the series’ roots, and this is an easy, effective way to re-ignite interest in people who haven’t touched a Mega Man game in years.
The different Mega-Person modes include: Galaxy Man, Plug Man, Hornet Man, Jewel Man, Magma Man, Concrete Man, Tornado Man, and Splash Woman.

I hope they have some original content on this thing… so far it looks like a hodge-podge rip of various art assets from the first 6 games mashed together… A fan could have made this
