E3 starts next week, and publishers and developers are starting to release their presentation lists to the press. While these might seem large just remember that companies generally like to keep a few things up their sleeves, so don’t take these things as the final word on what it is going to be presented at this year’s E3
The first to show their hand is Japanese mega-publisher Square-Enix with a list heavy on sequels, re-makes, and of course, RPGs:
Playable Demos:
Chrono Trigger (DS; Holiday ‘08), Dragon Quest IV (DS; 9/16/08), Final Fantasy IV (DS; 7/22/08), Infinite Undiscovery (360; 9/2/08), Song Summoner (iPod; out now)
Presentations of (not playable):
The Last Remnant (360/PS3; Winter ‘08/TBA), Star Ocean: First Departure (PSP; 10/21/08), Star Ocean: Second Evolution (PSP; 1/6/09), Star Ocean: Last Hope (360; ‘09), Exit DS (DS; 10/7/08), The Legend of Kage 2 (DS; 10/7/08)
Many of these we already knew were coming, some are absolute surprises. The Legend of Kage 2?! Does anyone even remember this game from their NES days? Exit DS is a game that’s been released on the PSP and Xbox Live Arcade; quite a steamy treat to see a PSP game ending up on the DS. Song Summoner is a tactical RPG for your iPod/iPhone that uses your music to create units… There is a lot here to like… I only wish I had the money to afford all of it!
