Well, the first screenshots of Castlevana: Judgement are out. I don’t know what to tell you, or how I feel about this; I’ve never been a big fighting gamer, and the last one I spent any respectable amount of time with was Super Street Fighter 2 on my SNES. (Battle Arena Toshidan for the PSX doesn’t count because you can map your special moves to the shoulder buttons.) My first reaction is that this isn’t the best idea when you have the next Soul Calibur coming out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with graphics that are stunningly gorgeous; the Wii’s visuals just can’t compete with the other systems. So, I’m stuck hoping that the gameplay and fighting mechanic are really top-notch, but there isn’t anything there to suggest that anyone on the Castlevania team has worked on a fighter before. What I do know is that their previous attempts on 3D gaming have been mediocre at best.
To say I’m worried about this would be a gross understatement.
