I know, I know, I said I didn’t want to give Mr. Thompson anymore attention, that the fool deserved nothing from us, the media, and he doesn’t! The judge presiding over his disbarment case, she does deserve our attention though and so we’re gladly giving it to her and if the Florida Bar concurs with her findings well then maybe it’ll be the last we ever hear from Jack Thompson, at least in a Courthouse. (I’m awfully pie in the sky about this, I know.) So let us give our full attention to Judge Tunis our full attention!
You can check out her full report here (heads up though it’s a 169 page document!) If you’re just looking for highlights I can give you those:
- Ignores the Bar’s recommendation of a 10 year suspension and instead recommends a permanent disbarment, with out hope of reapplying
- Fines Mr. Thompson just under 50 thousand to pay for the expenses of the litigation.
- Recommends these harsh actions for Mr. Thompson’s “pattern of conduct to strike out harshly, extensively, repeatedly and willfully to simply try to bring as much difficulty, distraction and anguish to those he considers in opposition to his causes. He does not proceed within the guidelines of appropriate professional behavior, but rather uses other means available to intimidate, harass, or bring public disrepute to those whom he perceives oppose him.”
