IGN is reporting what we all knew already: Mega Man 9 will be headed to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network as well as WiiWare. If that weren’t enough, Mega Man 1 and Mega Man 2 will both be heading to Virtual Console as well, though, judging by the above trailer, who can tell the difference?
Mega Man 9 is set after the events of Mega Man 8. Multiple riots have sprung up all over the world. Whilst many people suspect that this is another plot from Dr. Wily, Dr. Light is stunned to recognize that some of the robots rioting on the TV screen are his own creations. Even more stunning, Dr. Wily appears on television to proclaim that Dr. Light is the evil mastermind behind these latest catastrophic incidents and it’s up to Mega Man to clear his creator’s name.
There will be some updates to Mega Man 9, if not in graphics. There will be 50 new enemies and bosses, and an online leaderboard, which is new to the series. All that needs to be revealed are the Achievements and the (cough) Trophies.
