Halo Wars: First Half of 2009

Those of you who are eager to play some Halo-themed real-time-strategy will have to wait a year, as 1Up.com is reporting that Halo Wars will not appear til the first half of 2009.
When we interviewed Halo Wars’ lead designer Dave Pottinger late last week, he assured us the game — a Halo RTS built from the ground up for the 360 — wouldn’t slip all the way into 2010. We can happily confirm that to be the case: Halo Wars’ release date has been narrowed down to the first half of 2009, meaning we’ll be waiting no more than… well, another full year at the most to get our hands on it. Sure, that’s a long time, but it’s no 2010, is it?
Of course, we may get some Halo news soon. Bungie hasn’t revealed what the countdown is for yet.
