Sony CEO: Wii - Expensive Game Device, PS3 - Cheap Blu-Ray Player

If there was anything to show how revealing Sony’s feelings about the video game market is, Sony CEO Howard Stringer stated in an interview that the Wii “is an expensive niche game device”, while the PlayStation 3 is “still the best way to buy a Blu-ray player.”

Okay, let that sink in for a bit for a while.

I think the interview is a wonderful snapshot into Sony’s electronic priorities, since $199 is “too much” for Stringer to play video games, while $400-600 is a fine amount for a Blu-Ray player. What? You only want to play video games? What are you, a freak? Pay the toll and start buying Blu-Ray movies!

Feel free to rant comment.

As usual Sony putting their spin on what they deem to be logical….i’m not a MS or nintendo Fanboy, I actually own all 3 systems and have 2 PS3’s, yes, for the blu ray but I do game on both of them.

Sony needs to stop makiung up propaganda and excuses and start listening to the public on what it wants not what Sony THINKS the public wants.

In game chat is a MUST…uhhh Sony? you listening???oh wait you can’t cause you can’t fucking hear me cause the chat don’t work in 80% of the games and the other 20% don’t support chat online

Cross game invites? Anyone???? MS has this down pat.. Why in the hell would I want to quit a game to see who might be inviting me to another game? At least they have the XMB in game now so at least you can read messages while in a game…
