E3: Metal Gear Solid 4 on 360 “Inevitable”

With the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360, it’s seems like it’s a foregone conclusion that Metal Gear Solid 4 will also appear on Microsoft’s console. There’s been rumor after rumor (and denial) about it prior to the shocking E3 announcement of FF13, so when a “highly placed source” flatly states, “it’s inevitable“, it has weight.

“There’s only MGS left now: for a few months at least,” said the mole. “It’s inevitable. Konami knows how many million they’d sell in the US alone. If FFXIII can make it to 360 when Sony owns nine percent of Square, Metal Gear’s a slam dunk.”

Kojima has constantly said that the game isn’t transferable to 360 as the Microsoft console uses DVD as opposed to Blu-ray.

Of course, no one’s complained about multi-disc usage in Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, plus the fact this Fall the Xbox Dashboard update will allow people to install content onto the hard drive.

I’ve been suggesting this for a year, from what I’ve heard about MGS 4 ps3 version with the installs before each episode, it sure sounds like the game could be played with one episode on each disc. The motion control and pressure sensitivity features could be removed or replaced from the xbox version, and sony references could also be modified (like MGS 1&2 were when producing The Twin Snakes.)

I still suspect that Sony paid for a timed exclusive, or else MGS 4 would have released both the xbox and the ps3 version at the same time like GTA 4. I would guess that nothing will be announced until Spring, with the ps3 having a year of being the only system.

P.S. I hope the PS3 owners like the port of Bioshock, it is a great game and I’m glad that they will have the same chance as Xbox owners to fight Big Daddy’s……

The PS3 Bioshock has some exclusive DLC. I don’t know what it is, tho.

    Ahhh 360 can blow off.
It doesn’t deserve awesome stuff like this.
ffs , get your own games for once.

  4. FEATURE: Sony’s Lost Exclusives | Game Stooge Says:

[...] Let’s go through them then shall we? The biggest and the one that people are still talking about, and will continue to talk about for a long time is Square-Enix’s announcement that Final Fantasy XIII will be coming to the Xbox 360 at the same time it comes out for Playstation 3, despite Sony owning 9% of Square-Enix. FFXIII joins a growing list of games that were originally announced as PS3 exclusives that ended up coming to the 360 as well: Grand Theft Auto IV, Devil May Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed, Virtua Fighter 5, Beautiful Katamari, and Fatal Inertia. The only game that Sony’s managed to keep exclusive is Metal Gear Solid 4, and even that is up in the air now, too. [...]
