Alan Wake Remains in Coma

Earlier today, a scan of a flyer popped up on the internets showing that Microsoft would be showing off their first party survival horror game Alan Wake at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, and that there’d be a competition, and one lucky winner would get their face in the game. The forums were buzzing, excited to finally see a game that’s been in development for over 2 years now.

But wait! The Internet’s short term memory got the best of it again, as the flyer being shown in those scans was for last year’s TGS! Why none of the sites that covered last year’s show remembered that I couldn’t tell you - I’m guessing atrocious turn over rates and the pressure to publish first are to blame, oh and checking facts can be so burdensome sometimes! Remedy, Alan Wake’s developer, cleared everything up on their forums though and so now everything is okay, except that everyone is now reporting Alan Wake won’t be at TGS. Of course, they don’t know at all the official word from Remedy is, “Remedy’s team is just getting back from a bit of holiday and we haven’t had time to chat with Microsoft on upcoming shows/showings yet.”

So despite the headlines, no one knows, and no one bothered to check and the fine folks at Remedy had to run around putting out fires because some people can’t bother to pick up a phone and make a call.

(Thanks, Remedy via CVG.)
