MGO Broke, Konami Doesn’t Know How to Fix It

Last Thursday, Konami released the first premiere (read as “paid for”) expansion for Metal Gear Online. Promptly after its release, the servers running MGO stuttered and then collapsed. Despite Konami’s best efforts to resuscitate them, they seemed unable to fix the problem.
Right now, the rewards and the MGO shops are closed, and will remain so until the IT guys over at Konami figure out just what went wrong, though phrases like “there are still no permanent solutions as of yet” and “there are currently no set time schedules on its re-opening” don’t inspire confidence.
If you did pay for the expansion and then got charged extra and were unable to play at all, you’ve been refunded your money. If you haven’t you might want to call them!
For the first big online multiplayer title for the PS3, MGO isn’t the poster-child Sony wants it to be, here’s hoping MAG is better.

Man, when are Sony going to stop shooting themselves in the foot?
It feels like everything for the PS3 is either delayed or broken, it’s just one embarasment after another and I for am getting a bit sick of it.
