Let’s play catch up on the score between one-time Tecmo developer, Tomonobu Itagaki and his old firm, Tecmo.
Tecmo attempted to put a gag order on Itagaki, which has failed (+1 to Itagaki), so now the man famous for the revitalization of the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises (as well as sexual harrassment) is free to bad mouth Tecmo in-print, on-air, just about anyway he can. It gets better, though.
Itagaki handed over to his attorneys a fat stack of evidence. The juicy kind, too. The kind lawyers get all wet at night dreaming about! Yeah, that kind of evidence (Itagaki +1)! Remember, Itagaki is suing Tecmo for bonus and back pay he says they promised him. Tecmo has denied this the entire time stating Itagaki was paid just what they agreed to pay him. Amongst all that evidence Itagaki handed over were signed contracts and a transcript of a recording between Itagaki and Tecmo president Yoshimi Yasuda where they discussed and agreed on contract terms. Boo-Yah! Itagaki is so confident now that he’s raised his claim from $1.3 million to $1.5.
I know that doesn’t seem like a lot, but not everyone sues like a spurned mistress in New York, or a stupid Californian who can’t drive and drink coffee at the same time. Oh, and no one likes Itagaki anyway, so why should he get more? As we learn more, you will too!
(Thanks, X3F.)
