Hirai: I’d Rather Shoot Myself

Wow, the things people will say. Kaz Hirai, global president of Sony Computer Entertainment, in an interview with the Swedish paper, Aftonbladet, stated that he would rather take a bullet to the head than have one of Microsoft’s 360 exclusives.

Aftonbladet: If you had to choose ONE exclusive Xbox 360 title and launch it for the PS3 instead, which game would it be?

Hirai: I don’t think I have to choose any…..

Aftonbladet: But if someone is holding a gun to your head and you have to choose one [Xbox 360 exclusive or PS3 exclusive]. Which game would it be?

Hirai: Okay… Then they have to shoot me, because I really don’t think we need any.

Of course you don’t need it, that’s why you’re winning the console wars so handily, Mr. Hirai. The first step to helping yourself is admitting you have a problem, and it appears that Sony remains in denial as to just how the console wars are going. Considering they didn’t even pay to keep their own exclusives. Will he feel that way if Metal Gear Solid 4 goes to the 360?

Though maybe Hirai better get the Smith & Wesson ready, with Eternal Sonata and Bioshock coming.

(Thanks, Kotaku.)
