Splinter Cell: Conviction Delayed til April ‘09

Ubisoft released their financials today. The French company is doing all sorts of well, showing a growth of 25.8% their profits being higher than even they predicted! Why is the the company doing so well? I believe it has something to do with their license to print money, given to them by Tom Clancy. Ubisoft also talked about their upcoming games and they predict that next quarter they’ll still be printing money!

Tucked away amongst all this money talk and public relations boosterism is this little side-note, said at the end and in hushed tones in the hopes you won’t notice, and then quickly changing the subject. What was this little tidbit? The next Splinter Cell game, Conviction has been moved from fourth quarter 2008-09 to 2009-10, that means - because fiscal years are not regular years - you will not be seeing Conviction until April of 2009.

Hope you weren’t holding your breath for this one.
