Nintendo + Wii and DS Sales = Money

Nintendo is filling their money bin with gobs and gobs and gobs of money from the sales they’re making with their Wii and DS consoles. The Japanese gaming juggernaut released their first quarter financials and well, the news is good if you’re Nintendo.
The company brought in $993 million in profit for the first quarter a rise of 34% over 4th quarter earnings for 2008. Nintendo’s net sales were $3.91 billion an incease of 24%. Wii sales topped 5 million units, they pushed nearly 7 million DSs, This means that there are almost 30 million Wiis in homes and over 77 million DS units in pockets.
Nintendo is on target and says it will stay there, if not exceed, its forecasts for the year, a net profit of $3.04 billion and an operating profit of $4.97 billion by the end of the fiscal year - that’s March of next year.
