MGS4 to Bargain Bins in Japan Already?

Metal Gear Solid 4 has been out just over a month, and despite its stellar sales in the beginning the game is already appearing in bargain bins in Japan? That’s right! Kotaku is reporting that in at least one Sofmap store, the stealth action shooter is going for only 3,980 yen ($37) less than six weeks after release; the MSRP for the game is 8,800 yen ($82).

I was in my local GameStop yesterday, and they’ve certainly not lowered their price yet. The reporter doesn’t seem to know whether this was just one store liquidating its inventory a chain wide sale. We do know the MGS4 sold like crazy for a while in Japan. It was a top seller there this year and had great reviews. Perhaps everyone who wanted the game already has it and the games ability to move PS3 was slightly exaggerated? Who knows? If sales don’t pick up though, it only makes the chances of the game coming to Xbox 360 greater.
