RUMOR: 360 Price Drop in September?

Going down?Ben Kuchera over at Ars Technica seems to know someone who works over at Microsoft who is privy to the company’s game, marketing, and financial divisions, because he is saying his source is telling him that in September, Microsoft is going drop the price of all 360s, Arcade, Pro, and Elite. How big of a price cut are we talking about?

  • Arcade $199.00
  • Pro (60GB) $299.00
  • Elite (120 GB) $399.00

Ben’s friends also say that bundled version of these SKUs will be out before the holiday. Tthese prices are from a undisclosed source, and so should be taken with a grain of salt. If it matters much to you Ben was right about the new 60GB version of the console, but then who wasn’t? In addition, this may be an authorized leak from Microsoft to announce the price drop without annoying retailers who are trying to sell the consoles at the current price.
