Wolfenstein Without Hitler

The next Wolfenstein game, developed by Raven, will be available for the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 but it won’t be packed in with the mad man himself: Hitler. You’ll fight off hundreds of Nazi forces, but their leader will not be present upon completion of the game. Why?
Because it would ruin future sequels! Lead artist Kevin Cloud said, “”We’ve got to save something for future Wolfensteins. We can’t do him in yet!” Is it right to pay homage to the original Wolfenstein without bringing back the robotic anti-hero from the original campaign? Nah, he’s only one guy and he’s not that über to have to always play lead villain.
There are plenty of other crazy enemies you could throw at the player given this is a stretch fantasy story based on some original historical events. Plus, we don’t have to give the evil man too much credit for his mark on society.
In the end, the game will no doubt be a Nazi shooting gun-fest with lots of odd otherworldly stuff. I’m starting to feel bad for Germany, they’re always trying to get past this horrid historical event and their is always some company trying to recreate it in a game; everyone has their own opinions and desires when it comes to game design and campaign selection. Ah well, jedem das Seine.

Don’t worry - there’s always be Hitler so long as there are Miis and Avatars.
