LEGAL BRIEF: The Tecmo Plot Thickens…

The President of Tecmo, Yoshimi Yasuda, has announced that he has left Tecmo “for personal reasons”. He will formally be handing over the reins of the company on September 1, to the current Tecmo board chairman Yahuharu Kakihara.
You don’t have to be a genius to guess just how long it took for the rumors to emerge from the seedy underside of the internet, only about a second. The common theme of all these rumors: Tomonobu Itagaki. The head of Team Ninja sure created a mess for Tecmo when he decided to leave the company and then sue it.
Let’s hope that we’ve heard the last of this whole ordeal and that Tecmo and Itagaki can move forward now.
