IGN is reporting that the miniature golf/bowling hybrid RocketBowl will finally land on Xbox Live Arcade in September. The game had been target for Xbox Live Arcade well over a year ago, but will finally see daylight soon.
For those of you who haven’t played the 2004 Windows game, RocketBowl is futuristic bowling in which you don’t bowl in an alley, but a wide open course as if playing skins miniature golf; you get money for how well you do. You can even knock down pins on other “lanes”. Each frame has one or more green pins that give you extra money. You can use the money to buy special bowling balls; for instance, one ball has thrusters that allow you to change its direction mid-roll.
Derrick is a particular fan of LargeAnimal, an indie developer, and RocketBowl is fun in its kitschy 1950’s retrofuture look. You can try the PC version here.
