Down Under Finally Gets to Rock Out

  • Fact: Rock Band 2 is already out here in the US.
  • Fact: Rock Band has been out here for over 9 months
  • Fact: In Australia there are no band games

Until now.

EA has just announced that Rock Band (as in the original) will be coming to Australia on November 9, just under a year after its release in the United States, where we are enjoying the 2nd iteration of the franchise. Too bad all my friends are too self-respecting and there’s just no room in my living room for a set of Fisher Price instruments. [Note: The original instruments work just fine with Rock Band 2, as do all of the Guitar Hero instruments. - Jonah Falcon]

The game will be retailing in various formats: instruments only for $199.99; instruments and game for $249.99; solo guitar for $129.99; and, solo drum kit for $89.99 (all prices in Australian dollars). So, maybe we’ll be seeing Yahtzee review this inside the year?
