POLL: What’s the First Shooter You Loved?
In honor of Duke Nukem 3D joining DOOM and Marathon: Durandal on Xbox Live Arcade today, we thought it would be nice to ask: what’s the first shooter you ever enjoyed. Please note the word “enjoyed”, not “played”. You might have despised DOOM but loved Quake, or were a Mac gamer and turned your nose up at PC shooters but loved Marathon.
What is the first shooter you loved?
Keep in mind, we don’t list the sequels. And this is an add-your-own-choice poll, so if you see an FPS you loved but don’t see (such as Prey, Blood or SiN) go ahead and post. All joke entries and Daikatana will be immediately deleted, so don’t even try. That includes Duke Nukem Forever, too.
To vote, go to the Member Polls heading on the rightmost column.

Wolfenstein was my first shooter, but I fell in love with Doom. I must have played through that game a few dozen times on my own as a kid. The BGM/SFX rocked, local multiplayer (jerry-rigged 4 PCs together with a few Laplink cables :)), all of the user created mods/WADS (Barney Hell Knights and Cream-pie rocket launchers anyone?)…MAN. And then later playing on DWANGO…Good times.

DOOM was the second demo (shareware) I ever played - the first was Commander Keen.
